A new year, a new step!
January will be the start of some major changes. Because the contract that I had at the children center won’t be extended, I have decided to use those hours and invest them in Girl Alert. Girl Alert is an initiative that is part of Youth With A Mission and will, with the input from the projects they/we run world wide, do research, work in partnership with other organizations and get in action in able to promote the dignity of girls.
It is a huge step, especially because this job doesn’t come with a salary. As a matter of fact, everyone working with YWAM, looks for their own sponsors. So, if you would like to contribute in this way, please make sure to read the details below.
The first topic we will be focusing on involves the benefits of education for girls in developing countries. My heart beats especially for those girls that have, sometimes even at the age of 12, ended up in the sex industry (one of the profound reasons why girls do so, is because they lack education). The United Nations estimates that there are more than a million under aged girls working in this scene. Personally I think it’s important and fantastic, maybe especially being a Christian, in able to be a part of standing up against (this) injustice.
